What is De Minimis Value?

De Minimis value, for import and taxation, is the maximum value of goods which you are bringing into your country, for which you will not pay any duties, taxes or other fees. It varies by country.

For example, in Australia, duty and taxes kick in after the first $1,000. In Canada, it’s $25; in some other countries, it’s $5. In Europe, the average is about $190.
